We are in the midst of the sesquicentennial for the American Civil War. The anniversaries for major battles such as Shiloh, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville have already passed. These events have brought hundreds of Americans from all over the country (this author hiked all over Antietam with 500+ people).
Unfortunately, not everyone can make the journey. That does not mean you have to miss out. For each of these events, the National Park Service has done a remarkable job at chronicling the events through social media.
Approaching next month is the largest cavalry battle in North America — Brandy Station. In July, there will be coverage of the largest battle in North America — Gettysburg.
Here is how you can follow the action through social media.
Brandy Station falls under the jurisdiction of the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County Battlefields National Military Park. The same team already did a remarkable job at chronicling the events for Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Here are your options for following the action.

Gettysburg has fewer options, but there will still be action on the anniversary’s events.
