Don’t Hurt Your Job Search By Being Passive

If you’re a golfer you know a great swing isn’t complete without the follow through. The same goes for applying for jobs. If you don’t follow up with the places you’re applying to you may be really hurting your chances.

By sticking to internet only applications, avoiding networking events, and being too shy to speak up will greatly limit the volume of call backs. Don’t make excuses for these things, if the lack of action comes from being too shy then it’s time to get over it. When you do get called for an interview they’ll expect to see you poised and confident about yourself. Being withdrawn from the social atmosphere in your field will make you feel out of the loop, so instead join in and gradually get more involved.
