A police officer in San Antonio, Texas was hurt early Tuesday after a suspect in an undercover drug bust, Rene Martinez, 19, [link url=”http://woai.iheart.com/content/2017-09-19-police-drug-suspect-rams-patrol-car/” title=”rammed a police cruiser then struck a patrolman”] while trying to escape. Undercover officers, who suspected the individual had narcotics and a stolen firearm, were using surveillance to observe the suspect, who was later found to have an AR-15 and narcotics in his vehicle. Following the shooting of a knife-wielding student by police on Monday at Georgia Tech, a peaceful vigil turned violent [link url=”http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/09/19/georgia-tech-3-arrested-as-protest-turns-violent-after-police-shooting.html” title=”resulting in two police officers being injured”] and the arrests of at least three individuals. One protestor set a police cruiser on fire, while other masked protestors were seen shouting into the face of police officers as they were being arrested.
